UberACCESS allows those who need an extra hand or even a wheelchair accessible vehicle in Austin to request a ride at the tap of a button 24 hours a day. And at the same rates of uberX, UberACCESS is much less expensive than a taxi. Boone Blocker, a native Texan, transportation specialist, BBQ expert, Longhorns fan and music lover, marked the official launch of uberACCESS today as our Rider Zero.

“For universal transportation, uberACCESS is a game changer,” said Boone. “No matter who you are, how you get around, or where you are,  an Uber can now get you to your destination safely, reliably and affordably.” Chase Bearden, the Director of Advocacy for the Coalition of Texans with Disabilities (CTD) a statewide cross disability advocacy organization, applauded the launch of UberACCESS in Austin. “The freedom for all to work, live, learn, play, and participate fully in one’s community of choice is written directly into our mission at CTD,” said Chase. “We seek out opportunities to encourage policy that increases independence and access for Texans with disabilities.
