Located at the Messina Hof estate, this one-day festival will celebrate the 32nd anniversary of the budding of the vines and the blooming of the roses. 3,000 + guests will gather to enjoy wine tasting, local vendors and artisans, pairing classes, our famous grape stomp competition and more. Admission to the festival is free with the exception of a few events that require tickets which can be pre-purchased or included in one of our specialty packages. There will be red wine and white wine tents located outside along with Wine Slushies, wine on tap in the Wine Bar and premium wines located in our Tasting Room. ::TEXAS ARTIST WINE LABEL COMPETITION VOTING | Vote for your favorite artist! The 27th Annual People’s Choice Wine Label Competition is the centerpiece for the Wine & Roses Festival. Each year, Texas artists compete for a chance to be featured on a Messina Hof wine bottle. Voting is only open throughout the festival, so don’t leave without placing a ballot for your favorite finalist. All proceeds benefit the Arts Council. Want to enter the competition? Deadline is March 3, 2017. ::WINE & CHOCOLATE PAIRING Be sure to sign up for one of these decadent classes led by Karen Bonarrigo, this class explores the magical pairing of wine and chocolate. We heard your feedback from last year and added more time slots! Guests will try an assortment of gourmet chocolates while pairing them with Messina Hof's award-winning wines. Tickets sell out fast so be sure to purchase yours as soon as tickets are on sale! (Sparkling Grape Juice will be available for those under 21) This exciting Grape Stomp Championship will take place during Wine & Roses Festival.
Each heat of teams will compete by filling bottles with the juice that they have stomped. At the end of each 2-minute heat, the winning team with the most juice in their bottle will continue to the next stomping bracket. Teams of 3-4 members can compete [Registration is $50 per team of 3-4] OR [$15 per individual "free agent" (Messina Hof will add individuals to teams at random)] Prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams! Wear comfortable stomping clothes! Fun team names and jerseys encouraged! When registering, please give your team name or state that you want to be added to a team at random. Fee does not include tasting glasses or festival tickets. Tickets will be $1 each at the festival Wine & Roses Festival Parking This year Messina Hof is expanding parking to include the Rudder Parking lot which will be FREE for all Wine & Roses attendees, with shuttle service from 11:00am until 8:30pm! Parking will still be available at the winery for $5 per vehicle, space is limited so please plan accordingly if you wish to park closer to the festival.
