With the accent firmly on colour and patination, Andrew has supplied pieces for many of the leading collections both at home and overseas. Stock always includes a range of pieces from the Tudor, Stuart and Georgian periods and whilst oak is the primary wood, walnut, elm, fruitwood and yew wood also feature strongly. The website is displayed under nine different headings : – “ Chairs” which includes wainscot, Windsor and other single chairs, and sets of dining chairs such as Country Chippendales and spindlebacks etc. “Tables” for 16th and 17th century refectory tables, gateleg and farmhouse dining tables, side tables and smaller tripod, cricket and centre tables.

Under the “Dressers” heading can be found low dressers, potboard and other dresser bases and full dressers with racks, often Welsh. “Chests of drawers” usually includes an enclosed example and “Cupboards” can range from an Elizabethan buffet to the mural, livery, clothes press and court cupboards of the 17th and 18th centuries. “Coffers and Boxes” can offer collectors with limited space and pockets the opportunity to buy pieces with fine quality carving for very little money and under “Miscellaneous Furniture” you will find joint stools, bureaux, settles etc. and a good range of early mirrors. The “Ceramics” section mainly consists of English delftware including chargers, bowls and drug jars. Finally “Paintings and other Works of Art” usually has a good selection of Stuart and other portraits, early English and continental carvings, tapestries and metalware. Suffolk House Antiques is situated on the junction of the main A12 and A1120 roads in the attractive village of Yoxford and is not far from the popular seaside towns of Aldeburgh and Southwold.
