//groomsandbrides/boards/ photo pinned with love & light, to help you plan your wedding easily ♡posted 5 years ago in I am looking to re-create this type of chair sash for my head table chairs. How much fabric do you think i would need for 1 chair? I was guessing maybe 1.5 yards of the darker pink per chair and 1 yard of the lighter pink for the ruffles. Is that too much do you think? My second question is in regards to the pattern would you do a “T” shaped pattern for the darker pink wrap portion and then have the top ends of the “T” come together to join where the ruffles start? Yes to the T shaped pattern, but in the pictures it looks like the parts that wrap and tie around are much longer than the two sides of a traditional T; it looks like they tie and then hang down quite a bit. I think 1 yard for the ruffles seems a bit too generous, I would think maybe only half a yard. Do you have the measurements of the chairs you’re using? We’d need that to figure out how much yardage of the darker fabric you’d need.

The ruffles is going to depend on how many you want and how long you want them. Those ruffles are not gathered, they are made by cutting the fabric in spirals. Honestly, I think 1 yd is good if you want the amount shown in the picture. And yes, I would just do a T-shape for the top part. Those linens were supplied by Wildflower Linens. Here is a link to a pic on their website: The ruffles are called Curly Willow clips. As @zippylef: has said, they are made by cutting a circle of fabric into a spiral. Try it out with a scrap piece of fabric in various sizes until you get the length and fullness you want. I so want to try to make this. Can anyone tell me what kind of material I need to use? The sash is cut into a T shape. The top of the T is the flap that comes down over the back of the chair. The sash is placed right side out on the inside of the back of the chair. The flap is hung over the back, then the two long ends are wrapped around the back and tied.
