Alcohol is not allowed on the beach. The Clearwater Marine Aquarium (home of Winter the Dolphin) is located here at Clearwater Beach. Address is 249 Windward Passage (on Island Estates). They are located near Palm Pavilion, Pier 60, and across from Frenchy’s South Beach. Showers: There are no enclosed public showers on Clearwater Beach. There is the Pinellas County Bike Trail and the Clearwater Ream Wilson Trail. The Pinellas County Bike Trail is 40 miles long and goes from Tarpon Springs, FL to Downtown St. Petersburg, FL. Below is a great website on everything you need to know about the bike trails. The Clearwater Community Sailing Center or the the Clearwater Marina. The Jolly Trolley (orange and red old fashioned looking trolley) travels from downtown Clearwater to Sand Key, including Island Estates. The Suncoast Beach Trolley (blue and green motif) travels from downtown Clearwater across the beaches South to St. Pete Beach, where you can make connections with the Central Avenue Trolley, into downtown St. Petersburg. Fare: $2.25 per ride (have exact amount, drivers do not carry change). Day passes available at the Beach Chamber Office, 429 Poinsettia Ave.: $5.00 per person, $2.50 for seniors (over 65). Day passes good for Trolleys and PSTA (Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority) buses. Tolleys run about every 20-25 minutes.

Look for the sunburst trolley stop sign. On weekends (Fri-Sat-Sun) the Jolley Trolley route is extended north thru Dunedin, Palm Harbor, and to Tarpon Springs. Caladesi Island State Park The island is accessible by sand (on foot) from the very north end of Clearwater Beach. If you walk, remember you have to walk back over the sand. Go to the third floor, grab a book, sit down to read and enjoy the view. The view will make it very difficult to concentrate on your book. Most museums are in Downtown St. Petersburg. About 23 miles Southeast of Clearwater Beach. It takes a bit over 1 and 1/2 hours to drive to Orlando, except in rush hour.

If you are planning to travel through Tampa to Orlando in rush hour, change your plans and stay on the beach. The old downtown area of Palm Harbor is located on Florida Avenue (a right turn off of ALT 19) about 8 miles north of downtown Clearwater. There are plenty of parking lots, parking garages and metered areas for parking. There is a change machine located in the Lobby of the Marina (at the roundabout). You can also park in the Municipal Parking Lot at 640 Pierce Street (in Downtown Clearwater). Then walk next door to the Park Street (bus) Terminal and hop on the Trolley ($2 fare, exact fare only) to the beach. Handicap Parking Rules : Parking a large vehicle: Spaces for oversize vehicles (over 23' in length) are located throughout the beach and downtown and signed according to the length permitted (24' - 40' or 24' - 50'). There is a payphone located at the Hess Gas Station at the South end of the Beach. Pinellas County Bike Trail (The Fred Marquis Pinellas Trail)

The Fred Marquis Pinellas Trail is a linear park and recreation trail currently extending from Downtown St. Petersburg to Tarpon Springs. The Trail, created along an abandoned railroad corridor, provides a unique, protected greenspace for walking, jogging, skating, and biking. Pinellas County Parks & Conservation Rescources is responsible for the Trail's maintenance and operating costs. Lots of maps available on their website. All postal services available at the Contract Postal Unit in the Beach Print Shack, 294 Windward Passage, (Island Estates adjacent to Clearwater Marine Aquarium), open from 8:30 am to 5 pm M-F and 8:30 am to noon on Saturday or at the Cleveland Street Post Office on the mainland(650 Cleveland Street, downtown Clearwater, just over Memorial Causeway). A mail collection box is at the corner of Mandalay and Bay Esplanade at the Circle Food Mart.
