PLEASE NOTE that to get to Protection Island you will need to take a walk on ferry from downtown Nanaimo. Parkades are close to the ferry. Please check our website for links regarding transportation and parking information. We will soon have bunks for children that will fit in the bedroom area so the hide-a-bed in the living room won't need to be used. The Protection Island ferry runs every hour which is a walk on ferry only from the harbour in downtown Nanaimo. We will be pleased to pick you up on your arrival, however it is only a five minute walk to our home from the ferry. If you prefer to walk. There are approximately 350 homes with many full time residents and some who choose the summer months only. Golf carts, bicycles, wheelbarrows, trucks and cars all share our gravel roads. Should you decide to paddle over, it is approximately a 30 minute paddle from Brechin point. Port Place mall is close to the ferry where supplies can be purchased.
