Carol's Cottage is within walking distance of the Virginia Horse Center and 3 miles from Historic Downtown Lexington Virginia, The Virginia Military Institute, Washington & Lee University and the Visitors Center. Our beautiful property is the perfect location for family gatherings,weddings, school events,etc. Enjoy the spacious lawn. It's a perfect place for games and picnics. There is a table and chairs on the front porch. The perfect place for eating and visiting with your family and friends. There is a gas grill on the back porch for your use. The shed on the property is private and for owner use only. Bernie and Carol live on the property. We are always available if you need us. We are conveniently located at the intersection of I-64 and 81 just three miles from beautiful Lexington,Va. There are several restaurants and a shopping area with Walmart and Lowe's within 1 mile of our Cottage.

They will pick up/drop off to our properties. For our horse center guests, please inquire with the VHC regarding their shuttle service to/from town. We are approximately 10-20 minutes from most of the wedding venues in the Lexington area. FYI-we also rent the Guesthouse next door. Check out is at 11:00 am unless arrangements have been made in advance with Bernie and Carol. Please contact us if you are planning any type of gathering or event over the capacity of the Cottage. ****Please do not remove any of the contents of our home from our property. This is a private home and the contents are our personal property***** Please do not take our bath towels to the river or outside. They are for bath use only. There are old towels in the pantry for your use for anything that might stain.

No pets allowed except service animals. We allow smoking on the outside porches. Please use the ash trays provided and please do not throw Cigarette/Cigar butts into the yard. Also, please do not put loose Cigarette/Cigar butts in the trash can!! We appreciate our VHC guests, but please do not put horse blankets in our washer/dryer. No fires in the fireplace. There is a grill brush for your use located under the grill.*** Please remember to turn the propane tank off when finished with the grill!!! There are trash bags under the kitchen sink. When full, please put them in the trash bin located at the side of the shed. And, please do not put any loose trash in the can!! I you have a child in diapers, please make sure to put the diapers in a bag before putting in the trash. There are grocery bags in the pantry. Please do not put anything in the toilets other than paper. We are on a Septic system. Do not strip the beds upon departure. We will remove the sheets and towels from the room.
