The Kendall County Forest Preserve District purchased the Ellis House and its 45 acres in 2008. The Ellis House and Equestrian Center is set with panoramic views in a country locale where guests may watch horses graze or relax in our expert service, which makes it a beautiful backdrop for your next gathering. The mission of the Ellis House is to provide excellent service within nature's setting where clients walk away with a memorable experience that exceeds their expectations. What Kind of Event Can I have at the Ellis House? The Ellis House can accommodate up to 40 guests for a sit down reception or dinner and up to 60 for a cocktail reception. We also have an Equestrian Classroom that can be reserved for meeting/classroom space as well with full audiovisual set up.
Many people choose to take advantage of our tent pad located along the beautiful AuxSable Creek just North of the Ellis House. The tent pad accommodates a 40' x 80' tent, which seats 200 people comfortably.
