nursery glider chair target

Honestly this was one of the hardest projects I've ever done, and for the most part I'm absolutely loving it. My husband played a very big part in the theme for this room, we spent a lot of time together DIY-ing everything and a lot of bantering back and forth about what should go in the nursery and what shouldn't... aka I had to draw the line at a real deer mount and a few others lol ... I wanted this room to be soft and still feel like a nursery. Trying to keep it from looking like a trophy room was well lets just say interesting haha. The first project we did was the hanging shelf and we actually based that project upon doing a navy and orange color scheme keeping the colors warm... and I just couldn't get my husband on board with the orange... and the navy actually just made the room way too dark. This space is TINY and has a very small window, so the lighting is terrible and after seeing the warm colors it was clear that we needed to go softer... SO if I could... aka If I had the energy... and hope to down the road...
I would distress and white wash the hanging shelf to give it a softer "feel" as it's a little too dark for my liking but it'll do for now! We really saved a ton by DIYing just about everything with the exception of the crib, chair and side table. I hope to find the time and energy to share our DIY's on my blog but we'll see how the next few weeks before baby play out. Due to individuals using my design and re selling it as their own I will no longer be sharing the measurements for the barn wood back drop. I'm sorry if this has caused an inconvenience but it was not intended to be shared for those purposes My Husband's love for hunting & fishing. The pegboard DIY we made for over the changing tableA few months before my due date last year, my friends at Target said "Hey, what do you think about having Emily Henderson design the nursery for your new baby?" Since I'm a designer at Target and she's their style expert, it was a fun way for us to work together show people how you can design a nursery at a reasonable price and not have to go crazy on super fancy purchases.
Plus, Emily and I have a loooong history of working together. She designed our living room for her show (and then again when we needed to baby proof). She designed our studio, and she has signed-on to design every single house I will live in for the rest of my life (just kidding, but not kidding because I will pay her in Ryan Gosling kisses). So it only made sense for us to work together again on Coco's room. She gets me, I get her, and we just have fun hanging out together. However, the one thing about this whole "Let's design a new nursery" thing is that I didn't actually have an extra room dedicated to our 2nd baby. As is the case with the many second children (sorry, second kids), we weren't planning to do anything special with Coco's room. I figured we'd put a bassinet in our only extra room (our home office) until our new baby was sleeping through the night and then have her share a room with Ruby. So I proposed that we do an office/nursery-in-one because the reality is that not everyone has enough space for every kid to have their own dedicated room.
Since my home office was no longer my main office, we were able to scale back on the needs of that room and give Coco a special area just for her while she's little and getting her sleep skills mastered (more on that whole newborn sleep thing soon...).table and chair rentals markham Here is the space before...sorry it looks like an explosion went off in there. swivel chair on financeIt was once my home office for Oh Joy but had since turned into an office/storage/extra junk room.table chair rentals port st lucie And here it is now...hanging egg chairs for sale adelaide Since I already had the usual Oh Joy "pops of color and gold" in Ruby's room, Emily convinced me to go a different direction with this nursery and made it more gender neutral, graphic, and fun. office chairs for sale in lagos
The main pieces (crib, changing table, pouf, rug, lamps, book shelf, office chairs, baby bedding) were all from Target and so well-priced. And everything else was a combination of pieces I already had (like the glider which used to be in Ruby's room), vintage finds (like that cool credenza with gold accents she found on Craig's List for $200), and other affordable sources like the Ikea desks which had custom legs and lucite tops added to them.white plastic chairs rite aid Here's a look at the "office" part of the room... Their home is modern and sleek, but with two cute girls, Sienna (4) and newborn Dakota Rose, they needed some kid-friendly spaces as well. Luckily, Target Home Style Expert, Emily Henderson came to the rescue.
First, she created this bold playroom using key pieces from the Target Pillowfort Collection. But what about a nursery? Jen explains, “I knew I’d need a comfortable place to nurse and also that the room was really more for me this time. We just moved and have the nursery downstairs right by our master bedroom, but once she gets too big for her crib, we’ll move her upstairs with her sister. So we knew this room wouldn’t need to grow with her and we could have a bit more fun with the walls.” Pink wallpaper for the win! “I knew a fun bold print would totally work since we would be redoing the room in a few years anyways. I LOVE the bunny print Emily picked out!” We’re chatting with Emily to learn more about the design process, and don’t miss the exclusive behind-the-scenes video below:What was your initial inspiration for this room? The Chasing Paper Leaping Bunnies Wallpaper (from $40) really helped us ground our design decisions and inspired the look and feel of the rest of the room.
This is a nursery for Jen’s second girl, so we knew we wanted to keep the room feminine and soft but have a little fun with it. We stuck with the pink and white color scheme found in the wallpaper, and picked furniture and décor pieces that complemented it, such as the pink and white stuffed bunnies we tied back to the wallpaper. How did you find the bunny wallpaper? We were looking for something unique, sweet and eye-catching. Chasing Paper is a company that produces a lot of really great temporary wallpaper with fun graphics that work on nearly any surface. With the wallpaper, Jen and Jason were willing to go bold, but given the nursery will eventually become a guest room, we wanted to give them the option of keeping or easily removing the wallpaper once Dakota outgrows the space. Aside from the obvious (crib, changing table), what do you think every nursery needs? Every nursery needs a glider – let’s be real, it’s where mom spends a lot of time cuddling her newborn, so it better be comfortable.
Luckily, there are a lot of sophisticated options available so you don’t need to sacrifice style for comfort. I also love patterned and graphic crib sheets because they’re an effortless way to add a pop of fun color to the nursery but easy to swap out if you’re in need of a change. strongI love the Babyletto Hudson 3 in 1 Convertible Crib ($379.99) – I actually have this in my own home for Elliot as well. The Babyletto Bento Glider ($349.99) is another a great piece – it is super comfortable but still a goodlooking chair. I also used a few pieces from my friend Joy Cho’s Oh Joy! for Target home and nursery collection like the Party Mouse Figurine ($14.99) and Heart Ottoman ($59.99) – the pieces work well within the existing space and add a little fun and personality. There are a few products I loved so much that I ended up using in both Dakota’s nursery and Sienna’s playroom – the Pillowfort 2 Pack House ($19.99) and Pillowfort Column Table Lamp ($44.99).
