Once a student transfer request is approved at the high school level, the student will be allowed to complete his/her high school years at the approved campus, subject to the terms and conditions noted on the transfer request form, as well as the requirement to maintain residence within the boundaries of Leander ISD. If your child is an athlete, there are additional requirements that affect eligibility. An approved transfer does not make your child athletic eligible. Please contact the Athletics office (570-0170) to discuss eligibility.

Both Mary Ann Kluga, RN, MPS, LCDC, Leander ISD’s chemical abuse prevention program (CAPP) coordinator, and Sarah Romer, LPC, LMFT, CAPP counselor are facilitating the new “Parenting the Love and Logic Way®� course during the spring of 2017. The six-week program is designed to help parents nurture responsible, respectful, fun to be around children who will learn how to make their own choices, own their problems, think critically and logically for themselves, while parents let empathy and consequences do the teaching.

The course is appropriate for parents with any aged child and any situation: home, school or even work. The instructional approach includes discussions, video clips presented by the facilitator, workbook exercises and homework to practice the "new" skills presented at each class. Leander ISD utilizes a web portal, txConnect, that allows parents and students to view grades, assignments (grades 2-12), STAAR (and TAKS) results, immunizations, attendance and discipline information (grades EE-12) online. LISD is committed to providing parents with the information they need to be engaged in their child’s education, because research has shown that students tend to perform better in school when their parents are actively involved in their learning. The txConnect program will be the most comprehensive source for information regarding your child’s academic progress. With your txConnect account you will be able to view, update and print the forms that make up your child(ren)’s first day of school packet. Another benefit of a txConnect account is that you will be able to view and print your student’s interim progress report (IPR) and report card in txConnect rather than receiving one through the mail or in your student’s Wednesday Folder.
