Over 40,000 design enthusiasts braved freezing temperatures in Stockholm earlier this month to visit the annual Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair, the world’s largest interiors trade show for Nordic design. Here we’ve drawn together some of our team’s top picks, including some exciting new products from this year’s Greenhouse exhibition. Catch Lounge Chair – &Tradition With its playful and inviting form, the ‘Catch’ Lounge Chair by &Tradition builds on Jaime Hayon’s penchant for humour and personification. The Lounge version of the original ‘Catch’ dining chair introduces a higher back and elongated seat in a singular shell supported by a metal frame. Bob – Bla Station Winner of Best Product in the fair’s Editor’s Choice Awards, Bob is a modular sofa system providing almost unlimited options. Designed by Bernstrand & Borselius for Swedish company Bla Station, Bob is made up of 26-centimetre-wide modules and designed to suit spaces of any size or configuration.

CH23 – Carl Hansen & Son Carl Hansen & Son used this year’s fair to relaunch the Danish modernist Hans J Wegner’s CH23 dining chair. The CH23 was designed at the same time as Wegner’s famous Wishbone Chair and completes the set of four chairs designed as his first collection for the Danish brand. Eyes Lounge Chair – Erik Jorgensen The Eyes Lounge Chair was launched as a natural extension of the Eyes Dining Chair, both designed by Foersom & Hiort-Lorenzen. Eyes Lounge is available with or without armrests and with either wooden legs or a steel frame. Acme Chair – Fredericia Composed of a perfect square and circle, Acme is a versatile stackable chair designed by Berlin-based design duo Geckeler Michels. Acme is crafted in high-grade polypropylene with optional seat upholstery. PAIR Chair – Fritz Hansen Benjamin Hubert’s PAIR Chair comes in a mix of veneer and plastic that differentiates it from the existing stackable chairs in the Fritz Hansen collection.

Result Chair & Pyramid Table – HAYtable chair rentals scranton pa HAY’s stand was a highlight for us this year for its eye-catching display of the recently relaunched Result and Pyramid Collection. funky dining chairs perthOriginally designed by Friso Kramer and Wim Rietveld in the 1950s, the Result Chair and Pyramid Table have been relaunched by HAY together with Ahrend. The pieces are noted for their sparing use of materials, their simplistic construction and for the fact that they are light enough to move about with ease. AJ Lamp – Louis Poulsen Louis Poulsen presented Arne Jacobsen’s AJ Lamp in a new colour palette at this year’s fair. The new colours were carefully chosen from an updated Arne Jacobsen colour concept; the range consists of seven new hues: dark green, ochre, rust red, midnight blue, aubergine, and two grey tones.

Workshop Chair – Muuto Designed by Cecilie Manz, Muuto’s new Workshop Chair can be used as a dining chair but works equally well in a restaurant or cafe environment where durable furnishings are demanded. The chair is available in a painted version and solid oak. HAG SoFi – Scandinavian Business Seating The HÅG SoFi is available in a wide variety of models, materials and colours and can be customised to stand out or blend in with any work environment. At the core, the HÅG balance mechanism makes the chair extremely comfortable and the levers and handles are intuitively placed, easy to find and to adjust. Sibast No 7 Lounge Chair – Sibast Furniture Danish company Sibast Furniture used this year’s  fair to launch the lounge version of the Sibast No 7 Chair, originally designed in 1953 by Helge Sibast. The grandson of Sibast, Ditlev Sibast, interpreted the No 7 dining chair and together with his wife Anna he designed the Lounge version. The chair is produced in solid oak and available in several finishes, including lacquered, soap finished, black and smoked.

KADO is an extremely versatile structural system suitable for office environments, particularly for structuring an open office space. Areas of use include meeting, touchdown, libraries, coffee points and many more. All parts, sizes and materials can be configurated individually. The system comes in a selection of different surface finishes, including birch plywood, cork and magnetic whiteboards, to complement a variety of interior styles. Stockholm Furniture Fair’s annual Greenhouse exhibition provides a platform for unestablished designers and students to showcase their prototypes to future partners, producers and customers. Previous designers who started their career in the Greenhouse include GamFratesi, Nendo and Form Us with Love. The SP01 Outdoor Collection by Australian designer Tom Fereday is made in Italy and designed to withstand the toughest of environments. Maija Leskelä’s Puffin Collection is a modern interpretation of the classic steel rod chairs, inspired by the Bauhaus aesthetics.
