Wegner, 1950 The CH24 Wishbone Chair is perhaps Wegner's most celebrated work.  A light, attractive and comfortable dining chair with the characteristic Y-shaped back, gently curved legs and sloping arms. The chair is a triumph of craftsmanship with a simple design and clean lines. Despite the chair's straightforward appearance it takes more than 100 steps to make just one. The hand-woven seat consists of more than 120 meters of paper cord. The Wishbone is a relatively small piece of furniture, perfect for around a dining table or even as a desk chair. 

The CH24 has a spacious seat and allows its user to change position. The back offers good support and most people feel comfortable in it for a longer period of time. Wegner designed the Wishbone chair for Carl Hansen & Søn in 1949 and it has been in continuous production since 1950. Structure in solid walnut with clear lacquer finish, natural papercord seat. Clear lacquer finish with visible wood grain. The glossy smooth finish is darker than soap finish. 21.7"w 20.1"d 29.5" back height 28.9" arm height 17.7" seat height The papercord comes from sustainable Swedish forests and is treated with a light wax coating prior to weaving in order to make it more resistant to discoloration and grease. All paper cord is completely biodegradable or can be incinerated. Wood is solid wood purchased from responsible sawmills.
