cynthia rowley chair gray

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I spent mine trying to get ready for our impending trip to Florida; I’ll share more about that tomorrow. So Saturday I went to TJ Maxx to look for sunglasses and a few other things, and of course I ended up finding a lot more. I was amazed at their selection of chairs, there were so many beautiful styles! I L-O-V-E this navy blue velvet modern armchair. If I had an extra $200 to spend on a chair this would have been mine. Another pretty blue chair. I really did consider buying this to pair with my new desk, especially since it was on clearance for only $70. TJ Maxx always has a great selection of Cynthia Rowley chairs. My store had a bunch, including these adorable yellow chairs and… This gray hexagon print chair. This would be another great option for a desk chair. How fab is this chair! Wood, brass, and woven leather…it’s kind of mid-century modern but in a nicely updated style. It was either $300 or $400, I don’t remember.

Gray velvet + nailhead trim + modern wingback shape = awesome. I think this was $400. Not a chair (obvs) but I was surprised to see an upholstered headboard at TJ Maxx. Pretty stylish for only $400. I didn’t make it home with any new furniture, but I did manage to find a new set of sheets, a blanket, some books (including The Great Gatsby for $0.70!), a jacket, sunglasses, and a few other things that I probably didn’t need. Has anyone else spotted some great chairs at TJ Maxx/Homegoods lately?HGTV’s Joanna and Chip Gaines were among the stars of the High Point Market last week. Joanna helped introduce her new line of signature furniture, Magnolia Home, produced in partnership with Standard Furniture. Joanna and Chip brought those cute kids along, too. Jackie Hirschhaut, a vice president of the American Home Furnishings Alliance in High Point, joked that she stood outside the showroom building and answered questions from throngs of visitors about how to find the Magnolia Home display.

The wholesale market attracts 75,000 visitors to more than 11 million square feet of display space.

Magnolia Home captures the eclectic, mix-and-match look that Joanna Gaines creates on the popular HGTV show, “Fixer Upper.” Louise, Standard’s vice president of marketing, called it “farmhouse meets boho.” French-inspired bedroom pieces for girls feature curved drawer fronts, slender legs and petite hardware. They’re available in gray, blue and vintage white. (With Joanna’s favorite distressed finishes, of course.)

Upholstered beds have flax colored fabric panels and fluted posts. The line features about 350 items in bedroom, dining, occasional, office and upholstery. Styles or “genres” include primitive, industrial and farm, as well as French. Dining pieces include zinc-top tables and a kitchen island in vintage paint. Photography of the new pieces isn’t quite complete, Louise said, but pictures should be available online in mid-November. The Kate Spade line was introduced by E.J. Victor, the Morganton company that also offers a Ralph Lauren collection. The 34-piece line includes bedroom, dining room and occasional furniture, in upholstery and casegoods. Kate Spade fans will recognize the design influence, Hirschhaut said, as popular fashion meets furniture. The line has been pre-ordered and is expected to hit retail showrooms in November, E.J. Victor executives said. The upholstery is made in North Carolina, while the case goods are produced overseas. Contemporary designer Cynthia Rowley’s signature collection is from Hooker Furniture, and Hooker’s upholstery arm Sam Moore Furniture.

It includes 100 casegoods pieces from Hooker – bedroom, dining, living room and accent furniture – and more than 40 upholstery pieces by Sam Moore. There are three style groups: “Curious,” “Sporty” and “Pretty.” Allen Norwood: homeinfo@charter.net Write refer item here and here.
