I think that I would wait to see if there is anything at the condo....sometimes people leave things or pass things for the next person. Beach towel, beach chair and such can be purchased on island at lots of spots. Also try the Thrift Shop located on Periwinkle next to the church (I forget the name of the church), but you can purchase beach toys, etc. Noah's Ark is the thrift shop behind St. Michael's on Periwinkle. CVS pharmacy on Palm Ridge rd had some good deals when we were there last. what I forgot to add.....in my opinon, beach items on the island are about the same price as off island. I would not go out of my way to stop off island unless you were doing other shopping....as I said earlier....even though the policy for your rental says "beach items...chairs, towel etc) are not included....they still may be there.

I agree... wait until you arrive on the island, check out the storage locker at the condo and see if anyone has left behind chairs, umbrellas, etc... then, if you need any supplies, the CVS on the island has a good selection and decent prices. We also ship a box of supplies to the real estate office prior to leaving for Sanibel and it is waiting for us when we arrive. When our stay is over we drop the box off at the local Federal Express drop site and it arrives back home in a few days. There is a costco near the airport and one on Daniels. Chairs, umbrella and towels for a good price right now. On island CVS is the most reasonable. The owners of condos will not guarentee chairs etc because if people break prior to your stay. Most of the time condos do have things even when they will not guarentee. Don't forget to look at the Sunny day guide for those coupons also :) What is the Sunny day guide?
