She left us with amazing samples and were thrilled with her product. The wedding cake was absolutely beautiful--Julie used loose blooms provided by our... Cake was just as requested; Julie is an excellent baker and our cake was exactly what we asked for - a smaller two tiered naked cake, chocolate with raspberry preserves, vanilla buttercream, and berries on the side. We were very pleased with the final product, but a little frustrated throughout the whole... Delicious and great to work with! Julie makes the best cakes! She was great to work with and took our ideas and made them into exactly what we dreamed our cake would be. Working with Julie was wonderful! The mini cakes she made for our tasting were cute and delicious. I absolutely loved our wedding cake! It was just as I imagined and it tasted out of this world! I think we'll be eating the top layer on our 6 month anniversary.. I can't wait any... Working with Julie was a pleasure! The process of working with her was easy and simple.

I was planning my wedding from out of town, and she was easy to communicate with over the phone. We had one in person meeting and even though we set it up pretty last minute, she had samples... Julie was very helpful and gave advice on what cake would work best for our size. The cake was fairly priced and beautiful. I would recommend Julie to anyone on the Eastern Shore. Best Cake & Beautiful Too We had a small wedding so just a 10" white cake - must have been 3-4 layers. It was high and topped with fondant seashells - perfect for the sailboat setting. There were some very good cooks in the party and all agreed that this was the best tasting (&looking) cake ever. Julie made the cake of our dreams. Even though she has photos of hundreds of beautiful cakes, we had a design in mind and she brought it to life. Not only did she do a fantastic job creating a beautiful cake, but the taste was great, too. Julie has a true talent as both an... Julie did a fantastic job, from our initial tasting to our beautiful wedding cake to our first anniversary cake top to freeze.

Julie is amazing at what she does! Our cake was not only beautiful but it was the best cake i have ever had!! we highly recommend her to any future bride! u can't beat the quality! Review for Julie Bakes Julie Hanes of 'Julie Bakes' was a wonderful baker! She is kind patient helpful and had wonderful ideas. Her cakes were beautiful and had a taste to match! She is very down to earth and we were completely comfortable with her. From simple and classic to unique and... I cannot come up with enough superlatives to describe our experience at the Tidewater Inn. We hosted our daughter's wedding at this venue and everything was fantastic. Alex and Melanie are the best! They were responsive and always one or two steps ahead of us. They made throwing an elegant wedding seem effortless. We received so many wonderful comments from our guests, and people are still calling us to say what a perfect weekend it was. Many said it was the best wedding they'd ever attended. The town is wonderful.

They have great little places for dining, a farmers market on Saturday, great shops and St Michael's right down the road. The Tidewater is classy but not stuffy and the staff is friendly and accommodating. They have the most comfortable beds and fresh smelling, clean rooms. Honestly, everyone just loved this place. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Tidewater and staff, for making my daughter's wedding so memorable. We will never forget this day! 432 reviews sorted by: We stayed at the Tidewater Inn after a long chilly day of sailing on the Chesapeake and were so pleased with the Inn. The Tavern menu had everything we would want on it, the rooms were exceptionally clean and the beds were exactly what a tired sailor needed...soft and comfortable! I can't say enough about the staff too...so friendly and helpful! This was our first visit to Easton and were pleasantly surprised at how nice the town is...all the beautiful old buildings (including the Tidewater Inn) were restored and kept up beautifully, there were lots of restaurants, coffee houses and wine bars...we will definitely be sailing back!

We returned to our room after a wedding that ended after 11:00 PM. My husband turned on the TV while I showered. He was startled by a banging on our door accompanied by shouts from a man demanding entry, which my husband of course refused. The man stated that he was "security" and that we were "creating a disturbance." When my husband replied that the only sounds were my shower and the TV, the man replied that the TV was too loud for the people in the adjoining room and that he would "call the police" if it were not immediately turned down. Since it wasn't blaring, my husband concluded that his only choice was to turn it off. When I left the shower, I called the front desk asking to speak to a manager. I was told that there was no supervision at night and that our television was too loud. The woman seemed unimpressed with the suggestion that a simple phone call advising that the sound was disturbing our neighbors would have been an appropriate response to the problem. When I shared our experience with another guest, he opinion that there evidently was no soundproofing between the rooms, as he was able to hear clearly the marital activities of the couple in the room adjoining his.

So the hotel is not designed for privacy, and the staff's response to complaints that reflect its inadequacies is to threaten its guests. I might add that we were told by the friend -who had reserved our room as part of a block -that the staff also bungled the reservations several times. And, at the mediocre breakfast brunch, I was charged for the man who joined our party at the same time I did, although he didn't even sit near me. The waitress never inquired if we were together. So the staff is inept at best, evidently regularly lacks judgment , and is hostile and confrontational at worst. Room Tip: go somewhere else. My husband and I were forced to evacuate our home due to the coming of Hurricane Irene. When I was calling around to hotels within two hours from our home, I came across the Tidewater Inn. When I called, they graciously found us a room. When I arrived 2 hours prior to check in they were very accommodating. When my husband arrived at 10pm the front desk was just as gracious.

(during all this, they were handling a last minute wedding) The day of the hurricane, the staff came in with smiles on their faces and when we were having dinner at the inn's restaurant, they changed their clothes and filled in for the shortage of staff and continued to smile with warmth. We look forward to returning for a nice peaceful long weekend to with sunny weather which the wonderful family of Tidewater Inn. The Tidewater is in a great location near antique stores, restaurants, coffee shops and boutiques. Every person on the staff that we came into contact with was very pleasant, plus above and beyond helpful - one morning we met with my whole family in the lobby and wanted to go somewhere outside the hotel for breakfast, asked where we could get something - someone suggested we go to Darrell's next door. Upon agreeing to it (all 13 of us) one of the employees ran next door before we could get there and had arranged for our large party to be seated there - and we had Darrell himself taking care of us.

Every employee operated this way - we never hit a sour note the three days we were there. Our room had two double beds and was quite intimate, but we took a room that had been blocked for our extended family so we had a special rate & I had been told in advance that it wouldn't be spacious - I was happy for the rate. The beds were comfortable, the sheets and duvets were white cotton, soft and clean. The AC worked great, plus the windows opened if we wanted a little fresh air. The bathroom was also smallish, but the shower was excellent with great water-pressure, easy to regulate temperature. Everything was very clean. The restaurant and bar were also top-notch: great menu, service, delicious food. Coffee in the rocking chairs on the veranda every morning was very nice as well. It's a beautiful, old historic-feeling hotel - we loved it! We stayed two nights at the inn. Our experience was great. We loved exploring the town. We enjoyed the Friday night art gallery open houses, the weekend farmer's market, local restaurants, and the restaurant in the inn, Hunter's Tavern.

We enjoyed the Smith Island Cake so much I ate 3 pieces in two days!!!!! And then we went and bought a whole cake in Ocean City for our week at the beach. We have stayed at the Tidewater Inn three times and each time it gets better. Can't wait to go back again. Very nice hotel for a short stay. This hotel allows pets - so if you don't want a dog barking next to your room, ask to be located in a part of the hotel where there are no pets. We had this issue arise, but the front desk staff quickly located another room for us. Our room was directly over the ballroom area - there was a wedding and we heard noise, but it was quiet after 11 pm. This is an older hotel, very charming, but the bathrooms have limited room for toiletries, poor ventilation and the main room has no provision for applying cosmetics, drying hair etc. Everything, though, was clean; and you can work through the lack of space. The hotel restaurant was excellent; we had a great dinner; the steak and crab were delicious!
