Over 250 people attended the event in March, organised by Stirling Council Registrar Sharon Johnston with help from Visit Scotland and local wedding venue providers and businesses.

Held at the Visit Scotland centre in Aberfoyle, various businesses came along to display their wares, including Altskeith Country House, The Forth Inn, the Black Bull Hotel, Gartmore Village Hall, Callander Covers and Candycart, Simply Styles, Ashley Coombes Photography, Trossachs Flowers, Kate Elliot-Muir Make-up Artist, Lyndsay Gerry Make-up Artist, Carolynn’s Candles and The Glass Lass. Alison Rios McCrone, Proprietor of Altskeith Country House on Loch Ard said: “I am delighted Sharon arranged to host a wedding fair and for Altskeith Country House to be invited to attend. Aberfoyle and the surrounding area has some of the most stunning views and settings for weddings in the area and the event gave an opportunity to interested couples to come and see what the area has to offer.” Collette from Callander Covers and Candycart said: “I think the Wedding Event was a great success. My candy cart and chair covers were much admired and I received three bookings to be confirmed, enquiries for the future and gave advice about where to source other wedding requirements which weren’t represented on the day.”
