The ceremony included a ribbon cutting ceremony with Winston-Salem Mayor Allen Joines, Salvation Army of Greater Winston-Salem Area Commander Major Stan Colbert, Salvation Army of Greater Winston-Salem Advisory Board Chair Jack Sutton, Salvation Army Divisional Secretary for Business Major Elizabeth Birks, and Family Store Manager Amy Gobble. Also on hand for the festivities were the Wake Forest University Demon Deacon, Salvation Army Academy of Music and Arts Brass Ensemble, and even a St. Patrick's Day Leprechaun. Guests and customers enjoyed punch and St. Patrick's Day themed snacks as they shopped the newly remodeled store, which features a greatly expanded clothing selection perfect for "thrifters".
