Structure from black epoxy-lacquered steel and seat cover from leather in various colours and qualities. For indoor use only. AA by Airborne – a design classic is reborn. This casual easy chair – often called Butterfly chair or BKF chair – was originally designed in 1938 by Juan Kurchan, Jorge Ferrari-Hardoy and Antonio Bonnet who were inspired by the folding Tripolina Chair from the 19th century. Ever since its haydays in the 1950s, the AA by Airborne has become an essential piece of design furniture in architectural homes and a mundane design classic which up to our days evokes a feeling of freedom and creativity.
Starting in 1951, French furniture producer Airborne secured the rights of the Butterfly chair and produced it under the name AA by Airborne – AA being an acronym of design magazine Architecture d’Aujourdhui. The AA by Airborne chair was relaunched in 2010 according to its original design from 1951: it shows the engraving of name and manufacturing year on the structure and features the AA by Airborne label on the seat cover. All AA by Airborne chairs are manufactured in France. The steel structure of the AA by Airborne easy chair is filigree yet stable. The newest versions by Airborne Design are from epoxy-lacquered steel in black, chromed steel or from stainless steel. The versions from black lacquered and stainless steel can be used in- and outdoors, the chromed version is suited for indoor use only. The seat covers are also available in a wide choice of colours and materials: from cotton, leather or even cowhide – depending on personal taste and the interior scheme. Additionally, all seat covers can be ordered separately and changed whenever desired and according to seasonal use.
The version as described here has a structure from black epoxy-lacquered steel and a seat cover from leather in different versions. All leather covers are sewn from four pieces with a life-long guarantee on stitching. Following leather versions are available: Due to the leather cover, this version from black epoxy-lacquered steel is suited for indoor use only. However, the epoxy-lacquered structure is also available with cotton covers suited for in- and outdoor use.tables and chairs for rent makati cityIn 1938, a trio of designers in Argentina called the Austral group, presented the BKF chair, originally named Sillon BKF after it’s three creators, namely Antonio Bonet, Juan Kurchan and Jorge Ferrari Hardoy.recliner chair for sale in philippines
The rigid steel-welded frame is economical due to it’s spare linear structure and is reminiscent of an asteroid trajectory. By using two loops of steel rod welded together and a leather hide sling with four pockets to fit in the highest points of the steel frame, the butterfly chair was born. The design is somewhat similar to the timber framed Tripolina chair but the resemblance ends there. It was later put into production by Artek Pascee and manufactured in much larges quantities by Knoll in the United States. presidential barber chair for saleThe butterfly chair was a favorite in many households in the 50s, selling widely and becoming an icon of the era.plantation chairs for sale singapore It gained popularity due to it’s simple processing of materials and low investment. herman miller chair mat
